Many players are returning to continue the success that hasn't always come easy for the Rebels (only 2 winning seasons in last 10 years), several of them 1st team All-Golden League selections. QB Josh Firm, LB/TE Damian Taylor, Isaiah Culver CB/WR/KR/PR, OL/DL Kyle Bligh, and OL Cameron Knapp took home those honors. All of them mean something to Coach Pat Degnan, "Last year's season won't allow us to fly "under the radar" anymore." Last year's defense was quite strong, allowing only 14.6 points per game, but the offense wasn't particularly explosive (25.9 points per game). The latter should change with 8 returning starters. If the defense can even hold the status quo, then what Coach Degnan hopes for his team should prove to be true, "[The] team should compete for top three spots in conference." That would put Quartz Hill back in the playoffs where that experience could make them very dangerous. |
