Outlook: The Las Plumas Thunderbirds have a major challenge this year birthed through past inconsistencies. Las Plumas has had four coaches in the last four years. In addition, there are only three returning starters including Josh Brannon RT, Charlie Ciganovich LB and Cameron Hines SS. This season will be a mostly a new team because 80% of last year's team was seniors. This will be a junior heavy squad, with a new coach. First year Coach Larenzo Garth said, "This year, the emphasis in our program will be on team unity and family. We also want to demonstrate aggressiveness defensively and discipline offensively." The Thunderbirds will start the climb to a different level this year on the desire to win and the way the defense swarms the ball. After a good summer program, Coach Garth later noted that the offensive success will depend upon the play of his linemen.
