Outlook: Coach Tony Sanchez has high expectations for the California Fightin' Grizzlies. "There were a lot of early questions with this young group," said Sanchez. "But there's plenty of talent on both sides of the ball and we should have a solid year." The San Ramon-based California's running game will be strong with two outstanding running backs; LeRoy Green and Reggie Davis. The offensive line will likely be very solid, giving good protection to their quarterback Bo Stompro. Areas of concern are the lack of varsity experience and a young, albeit talented, defense. The California Fightin' Grizzlies will be tested with this year's improved schedule. Coach Sanchez said, "We have a tough schedule this year with national power De La Salle (Concord) moving into the East Bay Athletic League, adding national power Bellevue (Washington) and Las Lomas (Walnut Creek) to the 2008 schedule. Our program had a 28-5 record last year so our kids know how to win."
