Key team leaders include Brian Coulter RB/LB, Donte Brown WR/DB, Shannen Edwards TE/DB, Daniel Bragga OL/DL, Travis Williams WR/DB, Hector Lopez OL/LB and Rashad Bailey TE/LB. Coach John Antonio told us a lot about his team. The Oilers have depth and talent in the wide receiver and runningback positions. Coulter will be a solid leader the runningback and linebacker core. Brown has speed and can catch the ball under coverage. Coach Antonio said their biggest weapon may be Edwards at the tight end position. The line will be big but inexperienced. A number of players will be moved around in their positions to fit the teams' needs this season. Overall, the team is young and inexperienced especially up front. The Oilers will play a tough schedule and anticipate their team growing stronger over the next couple of years. "We will be better this year then we were last year. Last year was the first year of a 3-year plan of rebuilding. We should show signs of major improvement in certain positions," Said Antonio. He thought Berkeley and Pinole would be the Oilers' toughest opponents. |
