The Fightin' Irish have maintained their ongoing, one-hundred-year-plus rivalry with St. Ignatius (San Francisco, CA) and long standing competition with Riordan (San Francisco, CA). But they began a partial re-entry into the league last season. They first added Valley Christian (San Jose, CA) and this year they take on a full league schedule. Top players Desarte Yarnway RB/LB, Kenny Cavness WR/DB, Su'a Tuala FB/LB, Mike Morello OL/LB, Kevin Greene WR/DL and Jay Haro OL/DL are hungry to prove themselves as solid competitors in the strong WCAL league. Yarnway and Greene are nationally ranked DI recruits getting a lot of attention from many colleges. The team has good speed, strength and leadership. Coach John Lee not only expects to be competitive, but to possibly land a playoff spot - a task not possible previously as a freelance team. |
