Outlook: After winning just three times last season, a significant turnaround is very possible for coach Manny Martinez's Toros this season. Fifteen starters are back, including QB Carlos Cruz III. The veteran signal caller passed and rushed for a combined 2,300 yards last season; he has great experience. After sprinting for more than 1,500 yards two years ago, RB Mark Gutierrez missed most of last year with an injury. Now he is back, healthy, and he should be a terror to opponents. On the outside, Alex Medina, Xavier Flores, and Moy Chapa are good options in the passing game. The defense will be led by LBs Rafael Ramirez, Thomas Muniz and Oscar Garcia. In the secondary, Corners Jose Hernandez and Jose Luis Garcia can play. The Toros should be much improved.
