Outlook: After a 5-5 season last year, Patriot coach Don Willis looks for improvement and will try to accomplish it with nine starters back. Vance Thomas is back at RB where he scored seven times last year. Cameron Brewer will be the top Patriot target in the passing game, but who will toss him the ball is a question with Markel Woods one good candidate to start at QB. On defense, Augistine Ume-Ezeoke led the team in tackles at LB last year and should lead a unit that has playmakers emerge as the year moves along. If key newcomers step up, another competitive year is likely.
