Outlook: Coach Gary Martel thinks his team can win the district this season after solid campaigns back-to-back in his two seasons (going 8-3 two years ago and 9-2 last season). A starting RB must step to the forefront; Martel says that there are a lot of good candidates. "Kendal Jackson, Corenelious Polk And Kamran McCollum are very capable, but they must grow up fast," said Martel. "The sleeper could be Freshman Terrance Taylor." Jacolby Spencer is back at QB. A track star, he has added strength and Martel says he is a great leader. Line play should be solid with the offensive front having good depth with some young players. The strength of the defense will be the linebackers, though Antonio Johnson is a big body as a Defensive End. If the team weathers a strong early schedule, the Lumberjacks could be very tough down the stretch.
